The short version

AI Academy (www.aiacademy.guru) is a free, static learning site operated by Tarun Singhal. It runs no analytics, shows no ads, and sets no tracking cookies. Without an account, nothing about you leaves your browser. If you choose to sign in — which is optional and exists only to sync your learning progress across devices — we store exactly two things: your email address and your learning progress. You can erase both at any time, in one click.

If you use the site without signing in

All of your activity stays on your own device. Your lesson progress, quiz history, flashcard schedule, tool settings, and theme preference are kept in your browser’s local storage and never transmitted to us. You can export them as a file, or erase them from the Journey dashboard or your browser settings.

Like any website, the infrastructure that serves these pages (Amazon S3 for file storage and Cloudflare as the content delivery network) processes standard technical request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and keep logs for a limited time. We do not use this data to identify or profile you.

If you choose to sign in

Sign-in uses third-party accounts (Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn) through Supabase, our authentication and database provider. When you sign in, we receive and store: your email address, an internal account identifier, and the sign-in provider you used. We do not receive your password — no password ever exists for this site.

Once signed in, your learning progress (which lessons you completed, quiz attempts and scores, flashcard review state, tool settings, and learning-path position) is synced to a database so it can follow you to other devices where you sign in with the same account. That progress data and your email address are the only personal data we store. Your local browser copy always remains the primary copy.

Google user data

If you sign in with Google, the only Google user data this site receives is your basic profile information: your email address and account identifier. We use it solely to create your account and associate your synced learning progress with it.

AI Academy’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, do not transfer it to third parties except to our data processors as described below, and no humans read it except with your explicit consent for support, for security purposes, or where required by law.

Where data is stored, and who processes it

Synced data is stored with Supabase (authentication and database hosting), acting as our data processor. Access is protected by row-level security: each account can only ever read or write its own data. All data travels over HTTPS.

The website itself is served from Amazon Web Services (S3) through Cloudflare. Neither receives your synced progress or email; they serve the static site files.

We never sell personal data, never share it for advertising, and run no third-party analytics or tracking scripts.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Synced data is kept until you remove it. On the Journey dashboard, “Erase remote copy” immediately deletes your synced progress from the server; signing out afterwards stops any further syncing. To delete your account and email entirely, use the account deletion option where available or email us — we will remove it promptly.

Data stored locally in your browser is yours: erase it with the Reset controls on the Journey dashboard or by clearing site data in your browser.

Cookies and local storage

We set no advertising or analytics cookies. The site uses browser local storage for functional purposes only: your learning progress, your theme choice, and — if you sign in — your authentication session token. These never leave your browser except as described above.

Children

The site is a professional learning resource and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; sign-in is never required to use the site.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes to what is collected or how it is used will be noted prominently on this page.
